Be careful installing some of these free spyware software. Some have trojans within them.

Webroot softwares are good and safe, this includes Spysweeper that TT mentioned. A registry cleaner also helps. http://www.pctools.com/registry-mechanic/ is what I use.

Good luck with your problem.

A word to the wise about those registry cleaners. The one mentioned above may be very user friendly. I don't know about that one and I too know damm LITTLE about a computer. But I bought one last year called Tweak...something(don't recall the all the name) Anyway-it screwed up my registry soooo BAD, that I could not even get on the internet al all. Had to take my computer to a guy that ended up simply running the Windows Full Restore Program. I lost a ton of stuff...... BE CAREFULL!

Sorry to hear the bad news.

I personally don't use them Tweaks Software. I always say, one software can't do it all and many of these Tweaks Software want to do just that. Stick with what you want done.

Anything that puts you in the registry should NEVER be used unless you know EXACTLY what you are doing. They really ought to let people know that they are for high end users only. It's very, very easy to blow up your operating system.
